The Union Budget 2024-25 was presented in the Parliament. It was the first general budget of the 18th Lok Sabha. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon’ble Finance Minister presented the first budget of the current government. The budget focuses, in particular, on employment, skills, SMEs, the middle class, and an all-round prosperity. The budget also details nine priorities for creating adequate opportunities for all and suggests specific actions and reforms needed to realize the goal of Viksit Bharat.
As outlined in the Interim Budget, the focus of the budget remains on four major groups: ‘Garib’ (Poor), ‘Mahilayen’ (Women), ‘Yuva’ (Youth), and ‘Annadata’ (Farmers).
