UKSSSC Group C Exam of 15 November Postponed: What the Official Notices Say

If you were preparing for the UKSSSC Group C written exam on 15 November 2026, you have probably seen a lot of confusing messages this week. Some say the exam is cancelled. Others say it is postponed only for a few candidates. We read the Commission’s own notice, and this is what it actually says.

The short answer: the 15 November exam for Advertisement 80/UKSSSC/2026 (553 posts) has been postponed by a notice dated 4 November 2026 (official notice, PDF). No new date has been announced yet. Two other exams, for Advertisements 78 and 79, were postponed earlier in October and are also waiting for new dates.

The 4 November Notice: Advertisement 80 (553 Group C Posts)

The Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (उत्तराखण्ड अधीनस्थ सेवा चयन आयोग) issued notice no. 2654/अधियाचन/2026-27 on 4 November 2026. In plain words, it says:

Advertisement 80/UKSSSC/2026, dated 31 August 2026, was for 553 vacant Group C posts in various departments, including Computer Assistant, Pravar Sahayak/Varishth Sahayak, Nibandhan Lipik (registration clerk), Kanishth Sahayak (junior assistant) and others.
The Commission’s exam programme no. 1652/Pariksha-Karyakram/2026-27, dated 25 August 2026, had proposed the written exam for 15 November 2026.
In compliance with the judgment of the Uttarakhand High Court, Nainital, dated 6 October 2026 in Writ Petition No. 2464/2026, concerning Spinal Deformity (SD) and Spinal Injury under locomotor disability, the written exam proposed for 15 November 2026 is postponed.

The notice is headed “विज्ञप्ति/शुद्धि-पत्र” (notice/corrigendum) and is signed by the Commission’s Secretary.

Is it postponed for everyone, or only for some candidates?

Several websites have reported that the postponement applies only to candidates with spinal deformity or spinal injury. That is not what the notice says. Its last line postpones “the written competitive exam proposed on 15.11.2026” under Advertisement 80, without limiting it to any group of candidates. The High Court judgment is given as the reason, not as the scope.

We have not seen the text of the High Court judgment itself, so we cannot tell you what exactly the court directed about these disability categories. If you are a candidate under locomotor disability, keep an eye on the Commission’s website for any corrigendum to the advertisement.

Advertisements 78 and 79: Postponed on 18 October

Two other exams had already been put on hold. Notice no. 255/गोपन/2026-27, dated 18 October 2026 (official notice, PDF), says:

Advertisement 78/UKSSSC/2026 (15 June 2026): Junior Assistant and Stenographer Grade-1/Personal Assistant (Civil Court and Family Court). The exam was proposed for 25 October 2026.
Advertisement 79/UKSSSC/2026 (21 July 2026): Assistant Accountant and other posts in various departments. The exam was proposed for 1 November 2026.
Both exams were postponed for “unavoidable reasons” (अपरिहार्य कारणों से). The Commission says the new dates will be published separately on its website as soon as possible.

We checked the notices on the UKSSSC website on the morning of 8 November 2026. No new dates for these three advertisements had been posted by then. Dates can change quickly, so always confirm on the official site.

Which Exams Did Go Ahead?

Not everything is on hold. On 5 November 2026 the Commission published answer keys for the exams for Livestock Extension Officer, Surveyor, Lineman, Psychologist, Trainer/Instructor and Tourism Officer (answer key notice, PDF). If you took one of these exams, read the notice carefully for the objection process and deadline.

How to Use This Extra Time

A postponement feels frustrating, especially when you had planned your revision around a fixed date. But this gap is also a chance. Here is what we suggest to our own students:

Do not stop. A new date may be announced at short notice. Keep your daily routine and treat it as if the exam were three or four weeks away.
Go back to the official syllabus. Download the syllabus from your advertisement on the UKSSSC website and mark the topics you have only skimmed.
Strengthen Uttarakhand GK. State-specific questions are an important part of Uttarakhand’s recruitment exams. Our Uttarakhand specific GK checklist is a good place to start.
Keep up with current affairs. Recent events keep piling up while you wait. Solve our daily current affairs questions for 15 minutes every day.
Practise full papers on a timer. Speed and accuracy improve only with practice, not with reading.
Check one place. Rely on the Commission’s website, not forwarded WhatsApp messages. Every notice there carries a number and a date, so you can verify what you hear.
